The Russian Dolls' (Les Poupees Russes) actress took home the Best Newcomer Award 2005 at Cannes Film Festival. She was born and raised in Menlo Park in the suburbs south of San Francisco. Walter Smith, her father was an analyst in the industry of computers as well as Lora Smith Her mother worked as a psychotherapist. Courtney's parents separated in the year seven. Courtney had a relationship between each of them at different phases. Her older sister is Jennifer who is a marketing executive. She graduated in 1985 from Tamalpais High School, Mill Valley California. The actress has also performed for Ensemble Theater Company Mill Valley when she was an high school student.
